The President of Yarmouk University, Professor Islam Massad, received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, which included the Director of the Recognition and Equivalency of Qualifications Department, Al-Nasr bin Nasser Al-Ruqaishi, the Head of the Recognition Department of Higher Education Institutions, Abdullah bin Salem Al-Badi, and the Acting First Secretary of the Cultural Department in the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Jordan, Salem Al Wahaibi.
During the meeting, Massad stressed the depth of the historical relations that bind the two brotherly countries and the necessity of developing them in various fields, especially the academic and research fields, noting that 2101 Omani graduates graduated from Yarmouk University and are contributing today to the development and construction process of the Sultanate of Oman. He then pointed out that the University is keen, in accordance with its strategic plan, to enhance its academic standing with regard to international classifications, highlighting that the University obtained a five-star certificate in the global university evaluation system and advanced (200) places in QS-classification for 2024, which sets it in the category 1001-1200, as well as in the Times World University Rankings in Asia, which sets it in the category (400-351).
For his part, Al-Ruqaishi praised the distinguished scientific reputation of Yarmouk University in the Arab world, stressing the interest of the Omani Ministry of Higher Education in strengthening cooperation with Yarmouk University to achieve common goals. Thus, the meeting involves discussing many topics of common interest related to Omani students studying at Yarmouk University in various academic programs and degrees.
