The University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Mousa Rababah, sponsored the graduation ceremony of 29 participants in the 60-hour training course called “Arabic Program for Speakers of Other Languages”, which was organized by Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service in cooperation with the Language Center. Rababah talked about the importance of joining such training courses as they prepare competent specialists qualified in teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, which expands the circle of interest in Arabic as a language, science, civilization, and culture. He also pointed out the interest of the University administration in developing the Language Center and modernizing its infrastructure and technology to enable it to perform its tasks including spreading the Arabic language for non-native speakers. Moreover, Rababah appreciated the role played by Queen Rania Center in serving the Jordanian community through the various training programs it offers in cooperation with the University’s faculties and various units.
The Director of the Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service, Dr. Abdel Basset Athamneh, praised the work of the course lecturers who made utmost efforts in refining the skills and knowledge of participants. For her part, Dr. Hala Al-Hamad, from the Language Center, stressed the necessity of training specialists to teach Arabic to non-native speakers, praising the University administration’s support of such training courses and the high commitment shown by participants. However, at the end of the graduation ceremony, Rababah handed over certificates to the course participants.
