Yarmouk University participated in the Jordanian-Turkish Higher Education Forum, which was organized in Amman by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Tourism Promotion Board, and the Turkish Higher Education Council, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Muhafaza, and the President of the Turkish Higher Education Council, Dr. Erol Ozvar, and the Turkish Ambassador to Amman, Erdem Ozan. During the forum, the President of the University, Professor Islam Massad, gave a presentation about the University, its establishment, its strategic location in the north of Jordan at the center of the city of Irbid, and the distinctive experience it represents in cultural diversity and ease of services, the faculties and academic programs it includes at the BA, MA and PhD. levels and its students and the various student benefits and services it provides.
Massad pointed out the University's keenness to expand its network of relationships with various academic institutions and universities around the world, noting that the University has signed 137 academic agreements with educational institutions from 44 countries around the world, including 15 academic agreements with Turkish institutions. Moreover, Massad pointed to the agreements signed by the University regarding supported programs, such as the Erasmus Program while noting that 52 students from Yarmouk have been enrolled in Turkish universities for a semester through the Erasmus program. He also reported that 74 employees from Yarmouk University made visits to various Turkish universities to learn about their experience and market YU abroad. Finally, Massad referred to the Arabic Program for Speakers of Other Languages (APSOL) offered by Yarmouk’s Language Center as a point of potential interest for Turkish students.
The forum was attended by the Dean of Al-Hijjawi Faculty for Engineering Technology, Dr. Mouwafaq Al-Atoum, Director of the Language Center, Dr. Rana Qandil, and Assistant Director of the Language Center, Dr. Nancy Al-Daghmi.
