Yarmouk University signed a cooperation agreement with the Automation Anywhere Inc. International in the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in the presence of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh. The agreement comes as a continuation of another agreement signed in July last year between the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Technology Strategies Middle East Company (TSME), which involved coordination for the purpose of providing training on Robotic Procedure Automation technology (RPA). Thus, under Yarmouk's agreement, which was signed by the President of the University, Prof. Islam Massad,and the Regional Director of the TSME, the representative of Automation Anywhere Inc. in Jordan, Mr. Omar Madaeen, several faculty members from the university will be trained on the technology of robotic procedures’ automation.
During thesigning ceremony, Hanandeh confirmed the importance ofusing thelatest modern technologies in theeducational system in Jordanian universities where the robotic automation of procedures represents one of the most important tools in the world ofdigital transformation andartificial intelligence, which significantly contributes tosave the time and effort of theteaching staff.
For his part, Massadexpressed Yarmouk University's keenness to strengthen its relations with various institutions and bodies to achieve its vision and deepen the skills and capabilities of its teaching and administrative human cadres, which positively influences the level of students and their educational experience in general. He further stressed theimportance of using modern technologies and employing them to serve the educational process, as made evident during the exceptional circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic on the world.
In response, Madaeen indicated that as the youth is thefuture and wealth of thenation, the agreement contains a training and rehabilitation program for several Jordanian universities in different provinces besides a center of excellence in robotics that will be established at Yarmouk University. The center will train the teaching staff on therehabilitation of students concerning such modern technology to keep pace withthe global developments in digital transformation and to meet the needs of the local and regional labor market.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the Director of the Department of International Relations and Projects, Dr. Ghazi Magableh and Dr. Khaled Al-Nawasra from the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science as a liaison officer of the agreement.
