The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University has obtained the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) certificate for its undergraduate program “Doctor of Medicine”. The certificate is issued by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions in Jordan, an internationally authorized body to accredit medical faculties inside and outside Jordan. This accreditation approves the Faculty graduates to practice medicine in the United States of America and Canada and to complete their graduate studies in various prestigious international educational institutions.

 The President of the University, Professor Islam Massad, expressed his constant pride in the successive achievements of Yarmouk University in various academic and research fields, including its obtaining of international accreditations, pointing out that such achievements reflect the excellence of Yarmouk and enhance its prestigious position at the local and international levels. He then acknowledged the great efforts made by the academic and administrative staff of the University to meet the requirements of these achievement, stressing that Yarmouk will continue to work to develop and modernize its academic programs and achieve the highest international standards in various academic fields. He then mentioned that the University is trying to keep pace with international developments and standards in a way that reflects positively on the level of its graduates and enhances their competitiveness in the regional and international labor market.

The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Manar al-Lawama, indicated that the Faculty obtained this accreditation after meeting all the international standards required for such accreditation, which includes several elements related to the educational and research process in the Faculty, including the academic fields of the program, students, scientific research, governance, strategic planning, and international interaction. She also stated that the Faculty always seeks to achieve continuous development in all fields in a way that enriches the educational process and reflects positively on students. Moreover, she mentioned that the Faculty has signed several agreements with international bodies and universities in the fields of medical training in an attempt to continue advancing in the field of scientific research and community service.
