The Faculty of Mass Communication at Yarmouk University won four advanced awards in the festival of creativity of mass communication students in the Jordanian universities in its third session (the session of the late Dr. Esam Almousa). The event was organized by the Faculty of Media at Zarqa University under the auspices of the Minister of Government Communication, Faisal Al-Shboul, who deputized the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Zaid Al-Nawaisa. The Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Dr. Tahsin Mansour, confirmed that the Faculty is proud of the participation of its students in various local, Arab, and regional media festivals and competitions, and is keen to provide an opportunity for its students to display their creativity and media participation in various forums.
Noteworthy is that the Department of Radio and Television in the Faculty won the first place for the televised work titled "The Burial", which was produced by students Muhammad Abu Dalu, Rana Badawi, Ali Badarneh, and Osama Khatatbeh. The Department also won the third place for the televised work titled "Children's Diabetes", which was produced by students Wafaa Hatamleh, Rahaf Jaradat, and Sahira Al-Shurman. Also, the Department achieved the second place in the podcast category for the work titled "Al-Busala/The Compass”, produced by students Dania Shamekh, Aisha Omar, Rahma Muhammad, and Saja Mutair. All these works were supervised by Mr. Muhammad Mahroum from the Radio and Television Department.
In the category of journalistic investigations, the Department of Journalism, through “Sahafat Al-Yarmouk” newspaper, won the third place for the journalistic work titled "The Water File" which was prepared by students Muhammad al-Nawateer, Adham Masa’deh, Ghadeer Batayneh, Hala Al-Nuqrosh, and Rama Al-Jabali supervised by Dr. Ali Al-Zeinat, a faculty member in the Department of Journalism and editor-in-chief of the newspaper.
