His Highness Prince Mired bin Raad, President of the Supreme Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, expressed his happiness to cooperate with Yarmouk University, emphasizing that it is one of the most reputable national academic institutions that have always been contributing to serving the sector of higher education in the Kingdom and the prosperity of the Jordanian society.

During his visit to Yarmouk University and meeting with the university president, Prof. Islam Massad,, His Highness explained that the Council seeks to increase the support for students with disabilities studying in the various faculties of the university, and provide them with required infrastructure to continue their higher education and obtain various scientific certificates. He also expressed the Council's readiness to develop a joint plan with the university regarding the rehabilitation of various facilities to serve students with disabilities.

For his part, Massad confirmed that Yarmouk University pays special attention to its students with disabilities, pointing out that there are 257 students with disabilities in the various faculties and programs of the University. He then explained that the university established a special division in the Deanship of Student Affairs in 2010 for serving this category of students. Moreover, Massad stressed that the university is keen to help students with disabilities during the admission and registration procedures as well as study by providing them with technical and logistical services that would secure their safety and facilitate their movement within the university campus as well as working to overcome the psychological, moral, social and economic problems that may hinder their academic career.

However, this meeting was attended by a number of officials from the university and the Supreme Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
