4 Moreover, the plan focuses on developing and qualifying the university academic and administrative staff and enabling them to keep pace with rapid development in their fields of work. The scientific progress and the global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution forces the university to develop new strategies that enables it to improve its services and both academic and administrative systems to become one of the prestigious universities in terms of excellence and quality standards. The strategic plan gives great importance to available policies and possibilities for scientific research, which require establishing centers of excellence that are concerned with applied research in the first place. In addition, the university seeks establishing partnerships with the private sector and the community to sustain and market the output of scientific research at the university in order to achieve the desired social benefits. The new strategy of the University sets a special axis for the University's international relations. The University has developed an ambitious plan to expand its network of international relations with prestigious international universities, and to engage in academic and research partnerships with universities and international institutions. The goal of these actions is to build a strong international culture and an institutional capability through transferring and importing knowledge and good practices. Our ambitions are very high that the effective implementation of this plan will put Yarmouk University ahead of other Jordanian universities and among the prestigious international universities. Within the aspirations of the plan, we will constantly search for opportunities to achieve them. We are determined to achieve these goals to push forward Yarmouk University towards excellence, quality and internationalization. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to the Strategic Plan Team at the University and all others who participated in this important process from the University and the community. I look forward to working with all of you and I promise you to make the goals and aspirations of this plan a reality by the combined efforts of all the good sons of Yarmouk by 2020 with Allah’s help.
