11 Jordanian Center of Excellence for Public University Library Services The Center was established on April 27 th , 2004 and it is located in the library building at Yarmouk University. It includes libraries of the public Jordanian universities within a project of developing higher education in Jordan, which was set up by the Jordanian government to develop higher education in the Kingdom in the following universities: 1. University of Jordan. 2. Yarmouk University. 3. Mutah University. 4. Jordan University of Science and Technology. 5. AL- al Bayt University. 6. The Hashemite University. 7. Balqa Applied University. 8. Al-Hussein Bin Talal University. 9. Tafila Technical University. 10. German-Jordanian University. The Center aims to: • Manage of central library information system for member libraries • Achieve the ideal use of available human, material and financial resources in member libraries by providing training • Achieve expenditure rationalization by unifying procurement mechanism and group subscriptions in printed and electronic information resources • Enhance frameworks of constructive cooperation among member libraries • Unify work mechanisms according to the professional standards in member university libraries • Establish The National Information Network and Digital Libraries among member libraries
